“Rise of the Creative Entrepreneur - Strategies for the Independent Artist”
College Workshop for Creative Students
It has never been more accessible to be a creative. On the same coin, there’s never been so much competition. According to a study by the National Endowment for the Arts, only 24% of arts graduates find creative jobs in their field. In addition, the arts & entertainment economy has stagnated since the recession with less employment opportunities for working artists today.
Yet, in recent years, creative entrepreneurs have been innovating new formulas for success where financial stability and creative control go hand in hand. It’s known as the creative independence economy. My goal is to instill entrepreneurship in young creatives with today’s resources and technology. In doing so, creatives will have the power to see how inherently innovative they really are.
